This course is designed for all people working in or entering service in a hotel catering environment and who wish to understand better the range of catering services required, and how these integrate with other hotel and client functions.

Objectives:

At the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Understand hotel catering organisations and policies

  • Understand the importance of market research and a marketing plan

  • Describe beverage planning and liquor laws
  • Carry out function room set-up
  • Understand the importance of production and service planning

The Course Includes the Following 10 Lessons:-

  • Lesson 1: Understanding types of catering operations, hotel catering policies and organisation
  • Lesson 2: Catering markets and events
  • Lesson 3: Marketing catering activities and services
  • Lesson 4: Improving and maintaining client relations
  • Lesson 5: Working with other hotel departments and functions
  • Lesson 6: Meal functions and menu planning

  • Lesson 10: Other Client Services

Pre-Requirements:

There are no particular entry requirements.

Technical Support

Once you have enrolled, you will have access to your own personal tutor by mail or email. You will receive full tutor support for a 12 month period.

Qualification

The course consists of 10 modules with set assignments to complete. The qualification is gained from your coursework and there is no exam to complete. On completion of this course students will be awarded with the ASET Level 2 Certificate in Catering Operations. This award is at an equivalent to GCSE or NVQ Level 2.
