The course has been written to match the Paper 7 (Higher Level) syllabus set by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. This is the equivalent of NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) Level 4 and it is recognised throughout the worlds of business and industry as a required professional standard. Assessment is by one written paper.
Exams:
In order to sit the exams students required to be members of the ACCA. ACCA Membership is currently £54 joining fee and a yearly fee of £54 paid when you join and each January there after. Examinations are sat in June and December each year.
In order to sit the examination in June students must have been a member by the 31st December and in order to sit in December they must have been a member by August 15th. This means students wishing to start an ACCA course in December for examination in June will need to pay the ACCA £108 in December and a further £54 in January.
Should a student lets their membership lapse without officially resigning their membership of the ACCA, then when they next wish to re-enrol, all membership fees for the intervening period will become due.
The ACCA contact all students 3 months prior to each examination sitting asking them if they wish to sit any exams in the next sitting and which location they would like to attend.
Coursework:
To become an ACCA Accounting Technician, you must pass the examinations and either achieve a Level 4 NVQ in Accounting (this is called ‘the NVQ route’) or meet ACCA’s practical experience requirements (‘Practical Experience route’). This latter route is the one taken by most distance learning students
