The home study courses consist of Officially endorsed ACE Courses books, accompanying CD Rom’s containing exercise files and online CertBlaster Exam Preparation Software.
This course book will teach students fundamental concepts and terminology and the basic features of Adobe InDesign CS4. Students will learn how to create documents, place text and graphics, and create custom color swatches.
Students will also learn how to work with master pages and multi-page documents. In addition, students will learn how to format text, apply styles, work with threaded text frames, position and group objects, and work with layers. Finally, students will print documents, create print presets, and package documents for commercial printing.

Adobe InDesign CS4 Advanced Course Book:
Students will start by learning how to create complex document structures, create tint and gradient swatches, and use object libraries and snippets to work more efficiently and will then learn how to create vector paths and wrap type on a path.
Students will also learn advanced typography and composition techniques. In addition, students will work with graphics, object styles, tables, special characters, and the Story Editor. Finally, students will learn how to manage long documents.

Adobe InDesign CS4 Production Course Book:
This course book focuses on the information needed to prepare documents for high-end or commercial printing. In this course, students will learn more about working with color, using color management, printing more efficiently, and using advanced print settings.
Students will also learn how to add interactive elements to documents, prepare documents for electronic distribution, and work with XML.

Pre-Requirements:
There are no particular entry requirements as the course is set out for beginners although students will require their own version of Adobe InDesign CS4 to complete the course.
Course Duration & Support:
Students may register at any time. The home study courses are designed as self-study courses but if you have any problems you can email our email support. As the home study courses are self study you can complete in as little or as long a time as you prefer, and we do not impose a cut-off date for study.
Assessment:
Assessment is in the form an Adobe Certified Expert Examination. Examinations are in a multiple choice/multiple answer format and are 90 minutes in length each.
