The Human Biology IGCSE course is designed to develop a positive attitude to human biology in the twenty–first century. It attempts to look at the way biology affects your everyday life and how you can evaluate the scientific material that you come across in newspapers, magazines and on the television.
In combination with other suitable IGCSE entry subjects the course is an ideal preparation for those who wish to go on to study Biology or Human Biology at AS and A2 level.
Each lesson of the Human Biology IGCSE course begins with a set of clearly stated objectives and an explanation of its place in the overall programme of study.
Effective learning is encouraged through frequent activities and self-assessment tests.
The course includes 12 Tutor-marked Assignments and a Mock Exam, and enables students to engage with, and develop the ability to read, understand andrespond to a range of literary texts from around the world.
The Syllabus:
The Human Biology IGCSE course is designed to prepare students for the Edexcel IGCSE in Human Biology (4HB0) for examinations in June 2012 and later years.
The Human Biology IGCSE course is divided in to five modules. It is set out as follows:

Assessment is by two written examinations.

Technical Support:
Every student receives a personal tutor with whom they need to keep in regular contact. The essential relationship between student and tutor begins with an introductory letter and a telephone call to help decide on a study plan.

All tutors have a local rate telephone number such as a 0845 number. This means that when you phone your tutor it will only cost you the price of a local call. Whilst you are still actively submitting assignments, you should expect to be in contact with your tutor regularly. Remember, to get the most out of your tutor, you will need to tell them when you need assistance.

IGCSE Examination Fees:
On average the IGCSE examination fee is approximately £35.00 per subject regardless of the amount of examinations, plus an administration fee which is at the discretion of the exam centre.
