The Equality & Diversity (QCF) – Level 2 Course aims to give staff members an introduction to the issues around stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination, to identify the basic rights that all people should enjoy and the shared values people have, and to examine the responsibility that each person and organisation has in ensuring that barriers to participation in society are removed.

The objectives of the material are to help learners to raise their awareness of the issues surrounding equality and diversity and demonstrate this awareness through their actions in the workplace.

This course is designed to complement practical work, giving you the theoretical knowledge you need. You will look at the various laws (legislation) which affect equality and diversity, and how your workplace has to take account of them.

To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Award in Equality and Diversity learners are required to successfully complete one Unit of choice from Section A.

To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity learners are required to successfully complete one Unit of choice from Section A and one Unit from Section B.

Agreement relating to which Units should be completed should be defined at the outset with the learner’s Tutor/Assessor.

The course leads to a Level 2 award qualification listed on the QCF.

The Course covers the following Units:-

  • Unit 1: Exploring Equality and Diversity
  • Unit 2: Exploring Prejudice and Discrimination
  • Unit 3: Exploring Peoples Rights and Responsibilities

Pre-Requisites:

This material is suitable for candidates with a basic knowledge of this area, who are interested in improving their understanding of Equality and Diversity.

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with full tutor support.

Course Duration & Support:

The assessor/tutor will support the learner throughout the duration of the course. The learner will complete activities and an assignment in order to successfully complete the course. You will receive the course manual, assignments and study guide plus tutor support.

Assessment:

The tutor will support the learner throughout the duration of this course. Completing a series of tutor marked activities and assignments will lead you to the highly acclaimed Certificate in Equality and Diversity QCF qualification.

The certificate is achieved by successfully completing the NCFE candidate workbook in conjunction with the information and exercises provided within our learning materials.
 
Qualification:
 

The Equality & Diversity (QCF) award qualification is gained from your coursework so there is no exam to complete.

On successful completion of this course students will be awarded a Level 2 Award Qualification in Equality & Diversity.

This qualification has been accredited at level 2 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF Qualification No. 500/8342/9) and is comparable to working at GCSE or NVQ Level 2.

 
The qualification award is issued through NCFE. NCFE is recognised as an awarding body by the qualification regulators ('regulators') for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.

Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE.
