This course is designed for developers who plan to take Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) exam 70-511 as well as for developers who need to know how to develop applications by using Microsoft .NET Framework 4. Before you begin using this kit, you must have a working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Visual Basic or Microsoft Visual C#.
The course includes the official Microsoft study guide, plus practice tests on DVD ROM to help you assess your skills. It comes packed with the tools and features exam candidates want most including in-depth, self-paced training based on final exam content; rigorous, objective-by-objective reviews; exam tips from expert exam-certified authors; and customisable testing options. It also provides real-world scenarios, case study examples, and troubleshooting labs to give you the skills and expertise you can use on the job.
The course allows you to work at your own pace through the lessons and lab exercises. MCTS 70-511 Practice Tests DVD

You get detailed explanations for right and wrong answers-including pointers back to the book for further study.
Pre-Requirements:
Students must have a working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Visual Basic or Microsoft Visual C#. Exam questions that contain code will be presented in either VB or C#. Candidates can select one of these languages when they start the exam.
Hardware Requirements:
To follow practical elements of the course students should use a computer that is not your primary workstation to do the practice exercises because you will make changes to the operating system and application configuration. To use the companion DVD, you need a computer running Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3), Windows Vista with SP2, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 with SP2, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008 with SP2, or Windows Server 2008 R2.
The computer must meet the following minimum requirements: Personal computer with at least a 1-GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor | 1 GB of RAM (x86 systems) or 2 GB of RAM (x64 systems) | 40-GB hard disk | DVD ROM Drive | Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor.
Software Requirements
The Computer will require the following software: A Web browser such as Windows Internet Explorer | Adobe Acrobat Reader | Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional (a trial 90 day evaluation version can be downloaded)

Assessment:
Assessment is from the Microsoft 70-511 Examination. Examinations are in a multiple choice/multiple answer format.
