The Diabetes Care for the Elderly programme is divided into nine core units, each concentrating on an important aspect of diabetes. This is designed to be used as reading material to support workshop style delivery or as a flexible learning package, which you can work through at your own pace.
Each unit asks you to complete a number of structured questions and activities to ensure that you have absorbed the required underpinning knowledge on health and safety, and to provide evidence for core skills assessment. You will be provided with comprehensive materials designed to provide you with everything required to complete your course of study. You will have your own dedicated tutor who will guide you through your course work and answer any questions you may have.
The Activities and Assessments Workbook that is included in your Diabetes Care for the Elderly learning pack contains all of these questions, as well as exercises and activities for revision to reinforce your learning. All of these must be assessed by your Tutor/mentor.

Assessment:
You will be assessed on coursework which is detailed in the course materials. The NCFE Diabetes Care for the Elderly certificate is gained by successfully completing a series of assignments together with an end of course multi-choice questionnaire.
Certification:
The Certification is gained from your coursework so there is no exam to complete. On successful completion of this course students will be awarded a Diabetes Care for the Elderly Certificate of Achievement by NCFE.
The course measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked at Level 2 (using Ofqual’s Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) level descriptors) to allow you to consider the depth of study, difficulty, and level of achievement involved.
