MCITP Server Administrator certification consists of 3 of the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certifications and helps to build on the technical proficiency measured within each syllabus. As you complete each MCTS course you will gain individual MCTS certifications on your way to earning full MCITP Server Administrator certification.

- 70-640 – Configuring Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Course
Focusing on Active Directory in Windows Server 2008, this study guide covers configuring, managing, and supporting user and computer accounts, groups, Domain Name System zones and client settings; group policy objects; the new Active Directory Lightweight Directory Service and Active Directory Rights Management Service; backup and recovery; and communication security.
- 70-642 – Configuring Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Course
Focusing on Windows Server 2008 networking, this official study guide covers configuring remote access, Network Access Protection (NAP), network authentication, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, and Domain Name System (DNS) replication; capturing performance data and monitoring event logs; and managing file and print services.
- 70-646 – Configuring Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Course
Focusing on Windows Server 2008 administration, this official study guide covers planning server roles; maintaining server security; planning data storage, network load balancing, and server backups; managing software deployment and versioning; monitoring IPv6, server performance and capacity, and Active Directory replication; scheduling server deployments; and designing a rollback contingency plan.

Course Duration & Support:
Students may register at any time. The courses are designed as self-study courses but if you have any problems you can email our email support. As the course is self study you can complete in as little or as long a time as you prefer, and we do not impose a cut-off date for study.
Assessment:
Assessment would be 3 MCTS Examinations. All Examinations are in a multiple choice/multiple answer format. All MCTS and MCITP exams are scaled such that the passing score is 700. The actual cut score (the number of items you need to answer correctly) is determined by a group of subject-matter experts.
A common misperception is that you must answer 70 percent of the items correctly in order to pass the exam; however, the actual percentage varies from exam to exam and may be more or less than 70 percent, depending on the input provided by the subject-matter experts who helped us set the cut score.

On completion ofeach course you can apply for the appropriate Microsoft MCTS examinations at any registered Prometric testing centre.
The Microsoft MCTS examination fees are £99.00 + VAT each, and there will be 3 examinations to complete to gain full MCITP Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008 certification.
