With the CompTIA A+ Certification, you need to pass two exams to be A+ Certified:

  • CompTIA A+ Essentials 220-701 Exam

CompTIA A+ Essentials measures the necessary competencies of an entry-level IT professional with at least 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. It tests for the fundamentals of computer technology, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism now required of all entry-level IT professionals.

  • CompTIA A+ Practical Application 220-702 Exam

CompTIA A+ Practical Application is an extension of the knowledge and skills identified in CompTIA A+ Essentials, with more of a "hands-on" orientation focused on scenarios in which troubleshooting and tools must be applied to resolve problems.

The following units are covered in the course book: Power systems; CPUs and motherboards; ; Memory systems; Expansion cards; Data storage devices; Printers and scanners; Mobile computing; Windows management; Windows maintenance; SOHO networking; Network troubleshooting; and Security.

Pre-Requirements:

There are no particular entry requirements for the course but we advise that all students have a good general knowledge of using PCs, the Windows operating system and Windows-based software.

Course Duration & Support:

Students may register at any time. The courses are designed as self-study courses but if you have any problems you can email our email support. As the course is self study you can complete in as little or as long a time as you prefer, and we do not impose a cut-off date for study.

Assessment:

Assessment is from the A+ Certification 220-701 and 220-702 Examinations. Examinations are in a multiple choice/multiple answer format and are 90 minutes in length each.
 
Qualification/Exams:
 

On Completion of the A+ Certification Courses, you can apply for your internationally recognised A+ 220-701 and 220-702 Examinations.

Examinations must be sat at a registered Prometric or Pearson VUE testing centre and are currently £114.00 + VAT each.
