The Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³) Course is a standards-based training and certification program for basic computing and Internet knowledge and skills.
IC³ is the literacy gateway to advancement in education, employment, or other certification programs such as CIW, A+. There are no particular entry requirements and the course is an ideal starting point for learning the basics of IT.
There are three exams for IC³: Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online.
All materials are IC³ Approved and map to the exam objectives.

Computing Fundamentals using Windows Vista Course Book
This home study course book provides the knowledge and skills required to identify different types of computers, the components of a personal computer (including internal components such as microprocessors) and how these components work together.
The course book also includes the knowledge and skills relating to computer storage as it applies to hardware components like floppy and hard disks and performance as it applies to processor speed and memory.

Key Applications using Office 2007 Course Book
This home study course book includes the knowledge and skills required to perform functions common to all Microsoft Windows applications with an emphasis on the common functionality between the three Microsoft Office applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Elements include the ability to start and exit either the Word, Excel, or PowerPoint application, modify the display of toolbars and other on-screen elements, use online help, and perform file management, editing, formatting and printing functions common to most Windows applications.

Living Online Using Windows Vista Course Book
Living Online using Windows Vista provides specific guidelines for the knowledge and skills required to be a functional user of computer hardware, software, networks, and the Internet.
Employers, Colleges and Universities now understand that exposure to computers does not equal understanding computers. So, more than ever, basic computer and Internet skills are being considered prerequisites for employment and higher education.

Course Duration & Support:
Students may register at any time. The home study courses are designed as self-study courses but if you have any problems you can email our support team. As the course is self study you can complete in as little or as long a time as you prefer, and we do not impose a cut-off date for study.
Assessment:
Assessment is in the form of 3 IC3 Examinations. The IC3 GS3 exams are delivered though Certiport’s iQsystem at a Certiport Center.

On Completion of Course, you can apply for your IC3 Examinations. Examinations must be sat at a registered Certiport testing centre and exam fees are at the discretion of the examination centre.
