The Microsoft Certified Professional 70-297 (Designing a Windows Server 2003 Active Directory and Network Infrastructure) Course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to design a Microsoft Active Directory service and network infrastructure for a Windows Server 2003 environment. It is intended for systems engineers and network designers. The course will prepare students for the MCSE 70-297 certification exam.

The course includes lessons on Assessment stage I, Assessment stage II, Designing the Active Directory Infrastructure, Designing for network services, Designing the logical components, Name resolution, Remote access and address management, Service sizing and placement and The physical design.

Our unique distance learning training programme is delivered in Paper based and CD Rom materials. The course has access to Official MeasureUp exam preparation software.

PLEASE NOTE: The MCP 70-297 Course is designed as a theory-based course but does contain all relevant information on how to complete practical exercises if you have the available equipment, software & resources available.

Benefits of MCP Certification:

  • Industry recognition of your knowledge with Microsoft products and technologies;
  • Access to technical and product information, through the MCP Secured site;
  • Invitations to Microsoft conferences, technical training sessions, and special events.; and
  • An MCP logo, certificate, transcript, wallet card, and lapel pin to identify you as an Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) to colleagues or clients.

Course Objectives:

  • Analyse the impact of Active Directory on the existing technical environment and the current administrative structure.
  • Analyse the impact of the Active Directory design on interoperability and network requirements.
  • Design the Active Directory infrastructure to meet the business and technical needs of an organisation.
  • Design the network services infrastructure (DNS, WINS, DHCP and Remote Access) to meet the business and technical needs of an organisation.
  • Create a logical design that includes forest and domain infrastructures, authentication mechanisms, OU and Group Policy strategies, and a replication topology.
  • Design a name resolution strategy that supports Active Directory, including a DNS strategy, delegation and security, and a WINS strategy.
  • Design a network access strategy that includes remote access methods and policies, security for Remote Access users, authentication methods, and logging and auditing settings.
  • Design an Active Directory implementation plan that includes a project plan, factors that will effect the size of the database, as well as placement of domain controllers, global catalog servers, DNS service, and flexible operations master roles (FSMO).
  • Design physical network structure that supports Active Directory, such as the networking and routing topologies, a TCP/IP addressing scheme, router placement and the remote access infrastructure.
