Course Description

The CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) Course covers the FC0-U61 exam and is an introduction to the foundations of IT Knowledge and skills. The course is suitable for those with little to no experience in the IT industry but who want to show that they have a broad general understanding of core IT topics. It tests areas such as computer hardware, operating systems and applications, basic networking, security, and setting up and maintaining a computer.

The qualification is ideal for those who are interested in starting a career in IT and don't have any industry-specific certification or are unsure whether or not they will be able to progress to other more advanced knowledge IT certification courses and it validates the skills a candidate would need as a systems support specialist.

The ITF+ Course will teach the following skills:

On successful completion of this course, learners can arrange their ITF+ FC0-U61 exam through Pearson Vue testing centres.

ITF+ Course Format

This course is delivered through an online portal and will give students 12 months access to their materials.

The course notes are in a written format and will also include some videos. As well as the course notes, the materials also include a pre-assessment, flash cards, a short quiz in each lesson, live labs, a post-assessment and a practice test.

Prerequisites

There are no required prerequisites for the CompTIA FC0-U61 certification exam. Learners should obviously have a general understanding of computer use and Internet and email in order to complete this course.

As this is a self-study course, how quickly it takes to complete will depend on the learner and the amount of time they have available to study.

Assessment

Assessment is in the form of the CompTIA ITF+ Certification FC0-U61 examination. The Examination has a maximum of 75 questions which are a in a multiple choice and performance-based format over a 60 minute period. The Exam is graded on a scale of 100 - 900 with a minimum passing score of 650.

CompTIA Certification

ITF+ CertificationOn completion of the IT Fundamentals Course you can apply for the CompTIA ITF+ FC0-U61 Examination.

Examinations must be sat at a registered Pearson VUE testing centre. This price is subject to change so please check directly with Pearson Vue for confirmation.

CompTIA Exams can be arranged in-person through a testing centre or remotely/online. You can find or register for your nearest exam centres by selecting the Test Takers option from the Pearson Vue Website.

The CompTIA ITF+ FC0-U61 exam was released in September 2018 and the retirement date will be approximately 3 years from the initial release. No retirement has been announced for this exam yet.
