The Introducing Caring for Children & Young People - CACHE Level 2 Certificate (RQF) Course leads to an introductory childcare qualification suitable for students without any or with little previous knowledge or experience in this sector, but who feel that they can study at above the level 1 foundation standard.

This level 2 certificate qualification could be suitable as a piece of initial training for someone wanting to work in or for someone already working within a supervised capacity. This course is designed to cover the areas we feel are most important for someone seeking a comprehensive introduction to the childcare sector. The focus is mainly on children’s' welfare and health and safety.

On successful completion on this course students will receive an accredited Level 2 Certificate Qualification with 16 Credits.

Course Format & Delivery

You will receive access to the course materials through an online portal for a 12-month period. Students can use the portal for accessing their course materials, submitting assignments and to log tutor questions.

Please Note: An optional hard-copy book version of the course notes can also be purchased for £48.00.

This is handy if learners also want to work away from the computer and means they have course notes they can keep and refer back to beyond their online course license.

Delivery of the hard-copy materiuals is usually within 5 to 10 day working days.

Prerequisites

There are no particular entry requirements for this course.

Students can enrol providing they are comfortable studying at a Level 2 standard.

Course Duration & Online Support

You can start this course at any time, and you would be registered for a one-year period. You also have access to a personal tutor who can be contacted by email. Your tutor is available to assist with any queries and to mark your assignments for the Awarding Body.

As the course is self-study, you can complete it as quickly as you like. Support extensions are available if students do not complete the course within the one-year period.

Assessment

The course is assessed by a series of written assignments, which are submitted to and marked by your course tutor. There is no external examination required.

CACHE Level 2 Certificate Qualification

The Qualification is gained from your coursework so there is no exam to complete. On successful completion, students will gain a Level 2 Introducing Caring for Children & Young People Qualification issued by CACHE.

This qualification has been accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (Ofqual Qualification No: 600/0336/4). This is a Level 2 Certificate Qualification and has 16 credits.

CACHE are a national awarding body who offer high-quality qualifications for the care and education industry, making them the UK’s leading sector specialist. Established in 1945 by the Ministry of Health under the name of the National Nursery Examination Board (NNEB). In 1994 the NNEB merged with the Council for Early Years Awards to form CACHE. They offer a portfolio of qualifications ranging from Entry to Level 5. This course is purchased through Distance Learning Centre, a partner of O-S-C. The delivery, assessment and quality assurance will be carried out by O-S-C who are an approved CACHE centre for assessment and certification.
