Taking a Distance Learning Centre course can be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do, but the one factor that many don’t take into consideration is how to fit the course around everything else. It can be hard enough to organise your time or workload when you are just working, but it can quickly turn into and uphill struggle when it comes to working and studying at the same time!

Sometimes you need a helping hand, and if that means using little hacks to optimise your time, then you’ll be the better for it. Below we’ve listed 5 apps that will help you manage your time on the go. Remember, plan in plenty of breaks, try not to study for more than 2 hours at a time and plan in advance when it comes to deadlines.

Free - Available on iOS and Google Play

Combining an intuitive calendar and Task tracker means that you can organise your time in a simple, yet effective way. Schedule in your time, from a new event, a meeting, or a friend’s birthday, and don’t forget about your much needed study time too. All that, and it’s completely free.

Increase your productivity and manage your tasks easily by using Swipes to prioritise your day. Use the three tabs, Schedule, Current and Done to move around tasks and even snooze tasks if they can wait until later. Then, check out your history to see what you have completed that day.

Free - Available on iOS, Apple Watch and Mac OSX

If you would prefer an app that can track your time in a more formal way, then Hours Time Tracking is for you. Hours will not only allow you to sync your time across all of your Apple devices, but also manage exactly how much time you spend performing each task. More importantly, it will help you spend optimal time on important tasks and leave time for breaks at the end of the day.
