Bootstrap 5 Essentials Course Description:

The Bootstrap 5 Essentials Online Course is designed for anyone wanting to become proficient in using Bootstrap 5’s easy-to-use web page development tools. In the course you will build a wide range of responsive web pages that will look equally sensational when viewed on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and widescreen monitors.

Bootstrap 5 is a free and open-source CSS framework permitting responsive, mobile-first, front-end web development. It contains HTML, CSS and (optionally) JavaScript-based design templates for typography, forms, buttons, image carousels, navigation, and a wide range of other components, such as accordions and modals.

For the Bootstrap 5 novice, the course is self-paced and highly practical, teaching you the fundamental concepts and features through hands-on exercises and assignments and, if you have previous Bootstrap experience, we also investigate and try out many advanced features.

The course comes with the wide range of examples and photographs you will need to practise all of Bootstrap 5’s important features and, by the end of the course, you will have produced stunning web pages like the one pictured on the right.

We start with the basic Bootstrap theory, explaining how to create web pages based on the Bootstrap grid that incorporate images, lists, tables, and navigation between pages, concluding with more advanced features like implementing image carousels, drop-down menus, and accordions.

Prerequisites

You must have a pre-existing knowledge of HTML and CSS and you should also have a rudimentary knowledge of your computer’s operating system, including accessing the frequently-used menus and commands, and how to open, save, and close files.

Computer & Software Requirements:

To complete the Bootstrap 5 course you will need a Windows or Apple Mac PC with at least 1gb of spare disk space.

Course Format

The course is delivered online through the DLC Course Portal via a standard web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, or Safari and you will also be supported by a personal tutor who is available to provide feedback on your work by email at any time throughout the period of study.

The lesson notes are delivered through slides giving you the required information to work through each lesson and there are student files you will download to work on so you are putting into practice what you are learning.

Course Duration & Online Support

You can start this course at any time, and you would be registered for a one-year period. You also have access to a personal tutor who can be contacted by email. Your tutor is available to assist with any queries and to mark your assignments for the Awarding Body.

As the course is self-study, you can complete it as quickly as you like. Support extensions are available if students do not complete the course within the one-year period.

Assessment

You will be assessed on the completed assignments contained in the training programme. There will be a variety of projects and quizzes to complete.

Certification

This home study course is designed for personal development and is not externally accredited through an Awarding Body.

Students who successfully complete the series of assignments will receive a Distance Learning Centre Certificate of Completion.
